Much like bad weather tore through the northwest the night before, Manchester City blew the visitors aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a statement three-nil triumph for Andrée Jeglertz’s side owing to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a display that truly announced their championship potential as they consolidated their place at the top of the table.

Consecutive Losses for United

This result represented back-to-back league setbacks for Skinner's side for the maiden instance since May 2024, leaving them seven points off the top team with their title hopes hanging by a thread.
